Feature
Aquarium monitoring from your phone
Live temperature, pH, CO2 and water level, charts for the whole year and an alarm when something is off. The sensors connect to a Raspberry Pi and you check the readings in the Android app.
What the aquarium monitor measures
- Temperature: waterproof DS18B20 probe, read every 30 seconds, in °C or °F.
- pH: pH probe with calibration in the app, the basis of CO2 control.
- CO2: calculated from pH and KH, with a verdict on whether it is enough for plants and safe for fish.
- Water level: distance sensor above the surface; shows evaporation and leaks.
Why a Raspberry Pi rather than the cloud
Your data stays at home, on your Raspberry Pi. There is no subscription and no vendor server that might disappear. The monitor works on your local network even without internet, and away from home you connect through your own HTTPS address.
Charts, reports and a logbook
Charts for a day, 30 and 90 days and the whole year. The monthly report shows how long the parameters stayed in range, and the logbook keeps water changes, drop tests and fertilising in one place.
Frequently asked questions
Which sensors do I need to monitor an aquarium?
A DS18B20 temperature probe is enough to start. The pH probe and the water level sensor are optional: the app shows only the readings you have.
Does the monitoring work without internet?
Yes. The monitor on the Raspberry Pi collects data and raises alarms locally. Internet is only needed to check the tank away from home and for phone notifications.
Keep an eye on your tank from your phone
The app is free and ad-free. The monitor runs on your Raspberry Pi.
